A: Cullman Oktoberfest is governed by a board of directors.
Q: Is there an admission fee to go to
Oktoberfest?
A: Events that are held at the Festhalle and the Cullman County
Museum and are sponsored by the Cullman Oktoberfest Board are
usually free admission to attend. Events that are sponsored by other
organizations, may have an admission fee. We try to list which are
events are free so if in doubt, give us a call 1-800-533-1258 or

Q: Who benefits from the money brought
in by this event?
A: Cullman Oktoberfest is a non-profit organization. This festivial
is funded by the State of Alabama Department of Tourism, Cullman
County, City of Cullman, cooporate sponsors, ad sales, and vendor
fees, participation fees, and public donations. These funds go
towards planned activities, entertaiment at the festhalle, and to
promoting tourism in Cullman. Other official events not sponsored by
the board, retain all monies earned from their event, minus
participation fees. For example, Sacred Heart's Festival is a fund
raiser for the school, they keep funds earned minus their
participation fee.
Q: How is Miss Oktoberfest
Contestants picked?
A: Each high school in Cullman provides one representative from
their school; this representative is typical the winner of the
schools “Miss High School” contest held at each school. The only
contestant that is not chosen in this fashion is the representative
from St. Bernard Prep School. For their representative, the teachers
and administrators choose who will represent their school in Miss
Oktoberfest pageant.
